DadVice Privacy Policy

DadVice ("we," "us," "the app") helps fathers find relevant wisdom and quotes for the situations they face. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the app. DadVice does not require an account — you do not sign in, and we never ask for your name, email, or password.

Information We Collect

• A random device identifier. When you first open the app, we generate a random identifier stored on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, or any personal login, and is used only to keep your favorites and preferences associated with your device.
• Your favorites. Quotes you save are stored against your device identifier so they appear across your sessions.
• Your preferences. The life situation, child stage, and notification settings you choose during setup are stored against your device identifier to personalize the app.
• Situation text you enter. When you describe a situation to get a matched quote, that text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a relevant response. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide core features: saving favorites, storing your preferences, and matching quotes to your situation.
• To operate and improve the app's reliability and experience.
• To process subscriptions and manage entitlements through the app stores and our payments provider (RevenueCat).

Third-Party Services

We share limited data with service providers only as needed to run the app:

• Anthropic — processes situation text to generate matched wisdom. See Anthropic's privacy practices for details.
• Supabase — our backend for data storage.
• RevenueCat / the app stores (Apple, Google) — process subscription purchases.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data while the app is installed and in use. You can permanently delete all of your data at any time from Settings → Delete My Data within the app. Deletion removes your saved favorites, your preferences, and related records associated with your device. This action cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

DadVice is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including row-level security on our database, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Because we do not collect personal identifiers such as your name or email, you can exercise deletion directly in the app via Settings → Delete My Data, or contact us for other requests.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
